ABSTRACT & MOTIVATION
Over the past decades, several mathematical models to solve problems, no matter greater or lesser complexity. Evolutionary computation emerges with great emphasis given the demonstrated ability to face these challenges. Based on the general model of particles (PSO, Particle Swarm Optimization), the meta-heuristic algorithm EPSO, Evolutionary Particle Swarm Optimization comes in 2002 at INESC Porto.
In this thesis, the main objective is indeed present EPSO variants currently known and if possible, improving the performance and efficiency of this algorithm. The constant search for improving existing models, creating increasingly efficient algorithms and computationally lighter form the main objective of this work.
